An immediate denture is the optimal solution when complete extractions of your remaining teeth are unavoidable . Its primary benefit is allowing you to avoid the embarrassment of living without teeth while your gums heal.

We begin preparation *before* your teeth are extracted, ensuring a natural-looking smile is ready immediately after the procedure.

Procedure Overview

  • 1. Initial Impressions: We take precise impressions of your existing teeth and gums to create accurate denture duplicates.
  • 2. Extraction & Insertion: At your extraction appointment, the immediate dentures are inserted immediately , so you never leave the office without teeth.

Important Considerations

Since we cannot check the fit prior to extractions, some esthetic compromises may be necessary initially to compensate for existing structural issues or inadequate space.

You must understand that the immediate denture is a bridge to your final, permanent denture.

Post-Extraction & The Healing Process

Following extraction, your gums and bone will naturally recede and change shape . This requires careful post-operative instruction adherence and ongoing professional care:

  • Temporary Linings: Temporary linings or tissue conditioners will be required frequently during the healing period to maintain an optimal fit as your mouth changes.
  • Regular Check-ups: Regular maintenance appointments are necessary to monitor healing and adjust the temporary materials.
  • Permanent Reline: A permanent denture reline is performed only after the healing process is complete (usually several months) to ensure a final, comfortable, and exact fit.
