The metal anchors are surgically placed into the jawbone. Over the next three to six months, the implants are protected beneath the gums, bonding directly with the jawbone—a critical process called osseointegration .
After successful bonding, the surgeon uncovers the implant and attaches a small healing collar . Dr. Ghia takes an impression to fabricate the custom posts/attachments and secure the permanent replacement teeth (crown or bridge).
Most patients experience minimal disruption and achieve their final restoration in 6-8 months.
